Talk to the valet. When you turn to leave, you'll fall through a trapdoor.
Walk through the fleshy corridor, killing any creatures you come across.
You'll end up in a room full of eyes. Kill the little eye monster, then attack the large eyeball on the right to create a passage into the main room.
Once you step through, you'll be covered in a film of acidic slime that's eating away at your skin and clothes.
If you don't get it cleaned off you'll eventually die, so make sure to act quickly!
Go through the center door into the dining room, and kill the monster inside.
Go right and enter the bar. Examine the liquor shelves in the middle.
Drink the extra strong beer on the top shelf and exit.
Move right until you start seeing double - a darker, mirror image of yourself wielding a scythe will appear and attack.
Defeat him, and you'll receive the key to the bar's cash register.
Use the key, take the money inside the register, and make your way back into the main room.
Enter the cloak room on the left, and speak to the cloak room attendant.
He'll clean the acid off of you for $5, so give him the money you got from the cash register.
You can then kill him easily to obtain the shotgun, an incredibly useful weapon.
After he's dead, move the toga in the back to the second peg on the left to reveal a secret door.
Inside is extra shotgun shells and a scythe. Now that you're acid-free, you can explore this level at your own leisure.
Go back into the dining room and this time enter the room on the left - the kitchen.
You can kill the chef here for his cleaver, if you'd like.
While you're here, pick up the leg and torso laying on the floor, as well as the sandwich on the counter (eat it for extra health).
Go back into the cloak room and use the switch on the left of the door you entered from to unlock the next room.
Note: If you try to press the switch while the attendant is still alive, he'll blow your head off!
Proceed to the left and kill the monster in the next room.
Pick up the billiard stick and baseball bat.
There's also a gumball machine in the back that you can use up to 5 times to restore some health.
Once you're done here, move on to the next room on the left.
In this room, throw one of the body parts you picked up in the kitchen into the bubbles and quickly continue to the next room.
You're now in the bathroom. Pick up the weed killer located on top of the lockers to the right and leave.
Don't forget to throw the other body part into the water as you make your way back to the main room.
Go back to the bar and exit through the saloon doors on the right.
Use the weed killer on the giant plant to gain access to the fountain.
Open the gate and check out your reflection.
The fountain key is very hard to spot, but should be near your right shoulder.
Use it on the hole on the right wall to reveal a door.
Once you enter, immediately start attacking the monster to the left.
After it's dead, you now have access to Level 2.
(Alternate) If you don't feel like pixel hunting for a key, there's another route you can take.
In the kitchen, grab the empty glass on the counter located to the right of the broken mirror.
Fill the glass with water from the sink in the bathroom.
In the room to the right of the main room, use the glass of water on the fire.
Once you remove the firewood and the grate, a giant spider will crawl out and attack.
Exit through the fireplace once the spider is dead and kill the giant wasp that starts attacking you on the right.
There'll be a small doorway on the left, but don't go through just yet!
It's trapped, like many other areas in the Lodge, and will cut your head off.
Instead, place the firewood onto the floor plate to set the trap off prematurely and allow you safe passage through.
When you go through though, you'll end up right in Mr. Cain's room. Without the flail, he'll be quite difficult to defeat.
Though it's a neat secret, I don't really recommend it as there are
a lot more opportunities here to take damage compared to the normal route.
Health items are very scarce in the Lodge, so you'll want to take as little damage as possible.
Plus if you hit Mr. Cain with the flail, you'll get a unique animation!
